The Hon’ble Prime Minister in his independence Day speech 15 August, 2007 made an announcement regarding Development mission. In pursuance of this Department of higher Education launched a scheme namely “Sub-mission on Polytechnic” for establishment of new Polytechnic in the District, where there is no Polytechnic College. The Government of India has also sent a list of District which have been identified for providing assistance to the State Government for opening the polytechnic Colleges in the Government for opening the Polytechnic Colleges in the Government sector in 7 districts in Tamil Nadu viz., Theni, Thiruvarur, Villupuram, Thiruvannamalai, Dharmapuri, Karur and Perambalur.

Government of Tamil Nadu has issued order for the establishment of Government Polytechnic College, Perambalur and approved the following coerces.

Mandate:

Government Polytechnic College, Perambalur, approved by AICTE, is to offer full-time Diploma program in engineering disciplines to candidates selected according to state Government norms, using the curriculum and evaluation system prescribed by the Directorate if Technical Education, Chennai.

The Institute continuously endeavors to build sustainable Relationship with Industries, business houses and educational Institutions to produce employable candidates to meet the needs of industry.

MISSION

Government Polytechnic College, Keelakanavai – 621 104. Perambalur Taluk, Perambalur District is providing Technical Education and training to Men and Women at Post Secondary Level with Quality standards of the expectations of the Industries.

It also aims provide continuing Education, non formal courses to adults with the philosophy of value addition.

This institution is to accomplish the missing by offering quality diploma programme responding to the changing needs of the industries and community utilizing upto date resources with committed leadership and continues professional enrichment of staff with a participatory management process and developing to the total personality and critical thinking skill through staff quality improvement programmes believing in accessibility, equity innovation and high ethical and moral standards.

The institution aims to uplift the status of rural community by providing technical education with consistent performance in keeping with national standards. It is further aimed for environmental protection through a clean and green environment in the institution and conduct of programmes for the development of communication and life skills for better future of student community

Perambalur Taluk, Perambalur District is offer 3 Year Technician Level Diploma Programme in Engineering and Technological Education to the norms prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai as per Curriculum and evaluation system Developed by the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai – 25.

This Polytechnic College is a located Government Institution. In order to uplift the Community by the offering various training and extending Technical and support services.
