Rules and Regulation
Eligibility for appearing for the Board Examination:
1. The candidate must have put in a minimum of 80% of attendance 4 in the year / semester concerned;
2. Should have earned a progress certificate in studies from the Head of the institution;
3. Have to satisfactory complete the course of study prescribed by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu;
4. Should be in possession of satisfactory conduct and character.
5. Have to register and remit the prescribed examination fees.
Examination Fees:
For each subject – Rs. 65.00 / Paper
For each arrear paper – Rs. 65.00 / Paper
Fees for the Mark sheet – Rs. 40.00 / Semester
Registration Fee – Rs. 30.00
Provisional Certificate* – Rs. 110.00
Diploma Certificate* – Rs. 225.00
Consolidated Mark Sheet – Rs. 60.00
*Applicable only to VI Semester (Full Time) & VIII Semester (Part-time) candidates.
Scheme of Examination:

The examinations shall be conducted at the end of one year for I Year Diploma course and at the end of each semester for llnd and lllrd year Students by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu.
From April 1995 Diploma fee of Rs. 100/- and Rs.50/- towards provisional certificate are being collected along with the examination fee from final year students.
Rules and Regulations
To pass in board Examinations a candidate has to secure a minimum of 40% i.e., each theory subject and 50% in each practical subjects. 25 marks are allotted for record note book maintained by the students.
First Class With Honours:
A Candidate will be declared to have passed in First Class with Honours if he/she secures not less than 75% of the aggregate < marks in all semesters put together, except first year, and passes all the above-semesters in the first appearance itself and competes all papers including that of first year with in the stipulated period of two continuous years, without any break. The above regulations is applicable to the students admitted in and after the academic year 2000-2001.
First Class:
A candidate will be declared to have passed in First class if I he/she secures not less than 60% of the aggregate marks in all I semesters put together, except first year, and completes all ; papers including that of first year within the stipulated period of two continuous years, without any break. The above regulations -‘s applicable to the students admitted in and after the academic year 2000-2001.
Second Class:
All other successful candidates will be declared to have j passed in second class.
FOLLOWING ARE TREATED AS MALPRACTICE IN THE BOARD EXAMINATION
- Copying from the neighbour’s answer scripts or from bits possessed by them.
- Talking to the neighbor or showing answer to them.
- Possession of bits or any other written material or printed material connected to the day’s examination or not.
- Replacement or exchange of answer script or additional sheets.
- Writing answer or any other information on the question paper and / or exchange or question papers.
- Information connected with the examination written on the table, scale geometry box etc, or any part of the body of the candidate.
- Avoiding of giving statement regarding malpractice, trying to spoil or swallow or throw off the bits etc after detection.
- Transaction of materials with the neighbor or others
- Writing any appeal, register number or any unconnected information in the answer scripts.
- Use of programmable calculators.
- Misbehavior with the Chief / Additional Chief superintendents or Invigilators.
CELLULAR PHONES / PAGES / DIGITAL DIARIES ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE BOARD EXAMINATION HALL
